So many come to US on visa free travel, work 6 months undocumented from european countries, yet they are the first to get the GCs while Indians abuse B1, they abuse H1. How come only Indians abuse everything no one else abuses anything?
Indians dont abuse one thing...marriage based green card. people from many countries abuse that massively and get green card. I have stayed in us for long and have seen that.

To allot a GC or Immigration is a leanthy process includes several steps so it takes time to pass through all these steps. After validating and checking all the documents the GC is alloted
so the process takes time.

I know a lot of people might have suggested you different things for your well being.I would really like to suggest to please try Ramdev's yoga.If possible plan a trip to India and attend a camp.Several thousand people with chronic illnesses for which medical science had apparently no cure,have fully recovered .I would really suggest you to try:http://divyayoga.com/main.htm
May be you can subscribe to Aastha channel.They show interviews of people who have recovered from last stages of cancer.

I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003

I don't think people are in reality. We are in an environment that we have to be diligent that they don't make it harder then what it is; rather then making it easier.
People started playing the devils advocate that if there is quotas on EB then there should also be quota on H-1b; sort of trying to say if there isn't quota on h-1b then there shouldn't be on EB.
A little while ago; some Indian nationals who were here on H-2 visa to help with re-construcing mississipi and louisiana after hurrican katrina got the bright idea to do a march and go public with their grievances. Their grievances were that they paid $15K to come to USA; they were given poor housing, poor working conditions and they want to get greencards.
Do you think they got greencards? No; now the law has been changed to not include India as part of H-2 visas.
Everyone should try to understand the reality that we are in.
I agree that legislators are very aware of the difference between the H1b issue and the green card issue. Yesterday on CNBC, Larry Kudlow interviewed Sen. Grassley from Iowa on this topic. When Larry was asking about these workers contributing to society, buying homes, starting companies etc, Sen. Grassley told him he was mixing up two separate issues. Basically he only wanted to talk about the H1b issue.
The sad truth is these guys(like Sen. Grassley) are anti immigrant period(they give you all the blabber about I am 3 generations separated from immigrants etc. but that is quite simply them satisfying their conscience/the public conscience on this issue, I always wish the interviewer is an American indeginous Indian), and instead of saying so openly, they combine the issues when convenient and separate them out when not so. I agree with you that it is not because they are not aware. Right now their focus is on stomping out fraud, he mentioned cases of people coming on H1b and running laundromats, or working in different locations to what they are certified(ouch). The new quota that opens up on Apr. 1 will indeed be a watershed. I am expecting really restrictive and nasty legislation in time to greet this. I truly hope for very few applications, so the Hon. Sen. understands that this is a demand driven issue for the most part and fraud where it exists can be addressed but not with blanket legislation which effects can be unintended.
Nonetheless this issue of Country caps has become so draconian that if indeed the US changes its policy and institutes country caps on H1bs as your posting suggests they might in the end, then we will have things go in a certain direction.......protectionist, and there will doubtless be backlash. As it stands the current insensible policy is such that people come on H1b, settle into a job, have their US citizen kids, accumulate enough social security credits, savings etc and then facing an inordinate wait, perhaps even have to leave, what do you think the result is going to be? Well, the return to India where US employers given their US experience/education are more comfortable hiring them hence more outsourcing, then their US citizen Kids return for Gov't aid/loans to college, then they sponsor their parents to come in and receive social security and medicare etc. while their working contributions and taxes would have accrued to another country. Really? Does that sound like good policy?
If the US chooses to Cap Indian H1bs fine, let it be, however continuing such policy only leads to and effectual ban on EB green cards for Indians.

All checks cashed June 8th. It was sent to Nebrasks. I hardy just could read the SRC letters in back of my check. Online image in not good. I guess it has gone to Texas sercice center.

I may sound some what negative here but I am not trying to diminish the IV plat form for all the folks here.Yes, it is just "about us" only... what "IV core" did so far is vague....flower campaign and this current FOIA requests started randomly by the individuals thinking collectively.... I don't think it is started by IV core team as an "ACTION" item in the first place.

Received 'Card Production Ordered' email for my EAD few minutes back. Had received the same email yesterday for my wife. AP was approved for both me and my wife on 7/24. RD is 6/19/08 and ND is 6/23/08.
I am now relieved since I am currently working on EAD and current EAD expires on 10/4.

On July 25th lawyer sent my documents 140 & 485 concurrent, PD port from previous I-140 approval (approved at Nebraska).
Reached Nebraska Service Centre on July 26th.
Will it be processed at Nebraska Service centre or Texas Service centre? According to new direct filing instructions my employer and my residence comes under Texas Service centre.
Though I would say pray for TSC !

Pamposh - Point is not we getting money, idea is getting it back from USCIS. Whoever paid it, USCIS got it. Moreover, money is not the only issue. There are quite a few as we listed before.
Completely agreed. It is not about money, that is just a small portion of the whole issue and it does not matter who paid it. Infact even if the employer is paying for our application he/she is not paying it for free, they pay coz we work for them so logically it could be considered our money...that is what we need to emphasize on.
Its ideal, we dont waste our energy on these.
I don't think we are wasting energy/time by identifying gaps and answering questions to folks who want to know more about what exactly are we talking about here. Moving on and gaining more and more support etc., all these things need to be done in parallel.

Sorry if this is not about GC or any US immigration processes...i just would like to know if anybody can help me or provide me the procedures to obtain Canadian PR. I already had an assessment done (me and my husband under H1 here in US as Accountants ) and we have I-140 and 485 pending. We are thinking of trying Canada.

How current is the online status on this uscis website ?
I check it every day ..
For my husband, even though it said card production ordered, the tier 1 customer service said that it was still pending.
But still he got his card, then only after a few days, the cust service also said the same status..
anybody faced this ambiquity with customer service ?

Congratulations! Don't worry, those emails don't arrive in a logical order. I am pretty sure you will get a case approval email soon. In any case your wait is over. Happy 4th!!
I got the e-mail saying that they have mailed my 485 approval notice on August 4 - but nothing after that - will the notice come to me at home or will it go to the lawyer - also how long before the card production e-mail gets here - not that I am in a tearing hurry - I have waited several years so what is another month ?
