oye chappan... ever been to indore?
there is a small shops complex there called chappan dukaan... very famous hangout place for all indorians... just remembered :)
Chappan Dukaan is too good...even non indorians have heard about it...
I just had a morning dream that EB3 will be current in coming months.
May all EBs get current and all desis can switch jobs/companies/professions....

Hi, I believe you can only use EAD and AC21 after I140 is approved and 180 days of filing I-485.
Guru(s) : Please let me know if I am mistaken but by using EAD before above conditions will abandon GC application because labor certification is being violated.

abandoning AP was what I was refereing to... but as I said please chek with your lawyer that if you leave country in the middle of the application is that a problem.

One of my friends with a Phd in EE had to do something similar at Chennai consulate and had to wait for like a month. I guess Phd + research might trigger such paranoia among Visa officers.

Can he add an amendment to divide spillover equally between EB2 and EB3 India. This will help a lot.
Even if its only for Phd's ....40,000 More Visas will be available for EB2 and EB3
i think EB2 Back log will be wiped away just in 1 year and fall down will be there for EB3.

THe Lottery is the dumbest piece to obtain GC. Imagine some guy who does nothing to the USA applies, comes here sucks the $$ out of the system by coming here, staying here and enjoying all monetray benefits of a GC like unemployment benefits etc

Are all these paper based filings or e-filings?
I e-filed EAD/AP renewals on May 25th, 2009. Applications are at TSC. My AP got approved on June 19th and I received the AP documents on June 20th. However, my EAD application is still pending since May 25th. I think most, if not all, EAD e-files receive a FP notice and they take a picture as well as FP when we go to the ASC. I haven't received FP notice either so far. From what I am seeing, EAD paper based filing is being processed much faster (2-3 weeks) than e-filings. Anyone who e-filed EAD could pls let us know how long it took for FP notice and EAD approval.

but my Card Production was Ordered on 11/12

I am in same boat, I took a Infopass today and met with a IO in NYC. She said she will do the needful as the dates are current by communicating with TSC and if nothing happens I have to come back in 45 days. I do not have hopes but lets see what happens

which do u think is teh preferred test for us?
Just got Letter from Buffalo Canada Consulate to provide results of this test.
Plus Looks like IELTS does not have a test location in the state I reside in.

I was on L1 got h1b and started working for h1b employer in Oct 2007. meanwhile my wife and kid traveled to India and in Chennai consulate got 221g for latest salary slips in April 2008. in 2 weeks they got h4 stamped. after one year I traveled to India in July 2009 and got h1b stamped.

Is medical coverage provided by the company to all other employees?
If so, there is no reason why you should be denied coverage, H1 or not...
Otherwise, there is no legal obligation from the employer to provide medical insurance to his employees.

I have copies of all my I-20's and H1B's with me but I never kept copies of I 94 cards. Now if they start asking for all such documents its going to be very difficult. What happens if you are missing an old I20 can you ask school to go thro their records and issue a duplicate. To be honest from 2003 onwards everything is online via SEVIS so they should not even ask us for paper documents. Same with H1 with this new system they have started from this year.

Sorry to hear this news! As far as I understand the july fieasco and successive events did not effect consular processing especially for scheduled interviews. How did this happen? Well!

I wud just like to add that shud you travel and use your current visa your new I-94 will be stamped with date June 07. Then you have to extend you H-4 and your old approval will not be valid.
These are just my thoughts. And I am not a layer.

All dual intention like H1b/H4 are treated differently. For those AOS applicants where they also have H1b/H4 status ( Not necessarily VISA stamped) ..they need to be here when filed and if they leave after filing then neither I-485 or I-131 will get cancelled.
After approval, you can mail them.
I have known 2 person whose spouses came without problem.
Now , If you are F1 or B1 pure non immigrant VISA and you leave without it being approved then you are in problem.

I am not aginst the OP or generalizing the B1 abuse. I am stating my opinion of what could be the reason behind the denial. You know, now a days even people are getting 221g for the H4 stamping. It does not matter what visa you are going for, the US consulates just looking for a execuse to reject. Not only in India, there are lot of people getting 221g in Canada, and got stuck up there.

state.
The case of DSK , IMF ex-chief proves one teh point. I go agree he is innocent until guilty.
But yes he had lots of problems with women in the past....and got away because all were in Europe.
US is different and what looks like a minor issue B1 sent to work like H1B eventually gets the spotlight and faces severe crackdown.
