I have obtained the permission to conduct a letters campaign at Fremont BART station on all weekday evenings beginning next week.
If you live on the East Bay and haven't written your letters, this is your chance!
You can:
1) write & sign your letters on your own, then just drop them off to the volunteers at BART station
2) simply sign your letters at the BART station- we will keep the letters ready for you!
Come on folks, you just need to show up there on one weekday evening in a span of 2 weeks!

From the day you file your case you are legal to work with your new employer until its approval or denial. When you file your case (filed in normal processing without including paystub) sometimes they just approve it and sometimes they ask for a current paystub for evidence to close the case as approved. As you start working for your new company you would get a pay stub which can be used for the query.
That's a good point as well. I am planning to go in for premium processing on the safer side. But, if there is a query for pay stubs, they would require my previous employer's pay stubs right (the one from whom I am transferring my H1B visa to begin with)? I hope you are right, and my assumption is wrong. Looking at the responses, a lot is dependant on the immigration officer.

Just wanted to know if some one like me who have masters or more (phD) in Engineering and have backgorund in bioprocessing or food processing as well as research and academics . What may be the best IT options.
Reason I am asking is with current PhD and Academic jobs it is lot less pay (say in around 50 K). So wanted to explore other option if some how get laid off or fired one day which may be comming soon in a year or so.
though I had not done any programmming any day, I did little bit in my bachelors and at that time I thought I can do it well. But than really never had chance to work on programming stuff, as worked more with applied engineering in bio and food area.

Well, I meant in the light of these new details coming out about visa numbers actually being available as claimed by "knowledgeable sources", and also in the light of the *kind of* questions being asked by Zoe Lofgren.
Just read the Ombudsman's report today - though I'd heard about these facts floating aroiund...
Not claiming to make some new discovery here... merely stating that it kinda makes sense now.
Sorry to start a new thread about this.... listened to Rajiv Khanna's recorded conf call and apparently he's not very hopeful anything will come out of AILF's class action...

One of the reasons for huge number of patents in the US is that many companies, file frivilous patents to slow down competition not just to protect their intellectual property. No doubt the patents in the pharma industry are genuine, but a typical product like a freezer may have several hundred patents.
You are right .. the US has a big headstart; but that doesnt mean it will remain that way forever. For instance, close to 40% of all US patents are being bagged by either non-US entities or foreign outposts of US organizations. For a comparison, it was just 10% in 1995 .. dont remember where I read this, but I will post the link if I can find it again.

As my priority date is current I contacted my local congressman's office for help with my I-485. NSC replied back to the office (see reply below) saying my background checks are still on. But the officer at the infopass appointment said my backgrounds checks are complete. I don't know whom to believe.
Is this some kind of standard reply that USCIS is giving for Congressman's or Senators case status inquiry?

Thanks for a quick explanation.. So basically we are hosed if we leave our employer on a bad note and he decides to use our labor for someone else.
Follow up questions:
1. If I understand this correctly then simply revoking the labor won't kill the I-485 application but the employer needs to substitute the original application for another employee.
2. Also, by pre-July 2007 you mean people who filed their labor or I-485 before July 2007, or both?
3. Will this affect people who applied (and approved) for their labor before July'07 but filed their I-485 during / after July'07 fiasco i.e. majority of IV members.
4. If people in point # 3 are not affected then are they off the leash?

If you have left your employer after filing AC21(140 approved and 485 pending for 180 days), your employer then revoked your 140 and used the original labor to file 140 for another person(substitution). Another person has applied for 485.
Then original applicant's 485 will be denied.....because AAO is saying One Labor can be used only for one Green Card....
Mind you this is all relates to pre July 2007.

Gary, I'm just thinking of mine which is a circular polarizer. You rotate the polarizer to achieve the desired amount of polarization. So I can rotate it one way and either darken or lighten the sky. All but your last pic looked as if it was darker on the right side which lead me to the assumption it was a circular type. There's a linear type too which I have never used so I'm not sure how it works, but I imagine it doesn't rotate (anyone?).
