SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.

You have been quietly browsing this website all this time and suddenly became a member and started whining and complaining of what IV is doing. You don't need to get hyperactive and start freaking out. Relax and do what IV is requesting you to do at this time. There are a lot of items & issues IV is working on and they have prioritized some of them as very important which affects the larger members of this group. It depends on where ur I140 approval came from. What I mean by lag is they receive the application on 1st jun, they are working on assigning the lin # after 6 days. If they were at the same pace they should start working on the new I485 recived on Jun 1st today.

I will have to check with my attorney. But, my I-140 approval came from TSC but my I-485 application was sent to NSC.

Are folks on this thread suggesting we contact (communicate our plans to !!!) numbersusa? They are not going to listen to us, I can guarantee you that --- even if we tone down our demands! They might use our plans to develop a more effective strategy for themselves; they hate us from the bottom of their hearts. This is the most ridiculous and impractical thing I've heard in a while.

Isn't that they have completed input and receipt issuance for cases received by certain date (late Aug.?) according to their update? How come so many July filers still have not received receipts? Weird!
No, it seems as per the latest USCIS update (on Sept 7, 2007) the NSC has completed issuing receipt notices till July 28, 2007, and TSC till July 2, 2007.
Do you have any other updates?

I appreciate your spirit, although I don't agree with your belief that you own the thread or the messageboards by the virtue of your creating a thread.
What I posted was a plea to introspect (more so as the first anniversary of the D.C. rally approaches) - it was in no way dismissive of your efforts, or an effort to ridicule or demean your thread or its spirit.
Not sure why you felt the need to be rude - being firm and clear about your goals is a sign of leadership, and being blunt may get you some more brownie points. However, brash/rude behavior is not a substitute for that clarity and firmness, imho - particularly with those who may be working towards the same goals as you are (albeit coming at it from a different angle).

I dont have a problem signing 1 yr agreement because my 140 will take at least another 8 months ( Feb 08) and by the time next years budget opens up for good new Jobs its already Mar 08.
But my concern is if my employer wants me to hang on with them till 485 is approved and then 1 more year

July VB Fiasco I-485 Receipting Delays
The USCIS has yet to release the detailed progress report on the receipting delays in terms of the numbers that have yet to be processed for receipting. The only thing people know through various private websites just indicates that there are a plenty of people who are still waiting for filing fee checks cashed or receipt notices received for the cases which were filed as early as July 2, 2007, not to mention any later cases.
We reported earlier that the USCIS had allegedly received total of 800,000 cases for the July VB fiasco cases. There is an unconfirmed report that they have completed the receipting only half way through of the total, meaning approximately 400,000. There are no sources of information to verify or confirm the figures. However, if it is correct, the USCIS has yet to process mountains of receipting workloads ahead and the filers have some additional sleepless nights which they will have to endure for a while. AMEN!

The EB-2 category for Indian nationals has retrogressed four years and will be set at January 1, 2000 for applications received beginning June 1st. If you are from China, the backlog is five years less - February 15, 2005. And if you are from any other country in the world, there is no wait at all. I am really appalled that Congress allows such an unjust distribution methodology to remain the law. No country is permitted to claim more than 7% of the numbers in a green card category. I resonate the feelings of all on this forum, God bless you and your family, these are some thoughts coming to my mind... all might not be feasible in your case so take what you think might help the current situation and make an informed decision.
- Find an "good" immigration lawyer, most immigration lawyers are very community minded, they might also help you without any fees.
- There is a huge fiji community in US I am talking about well established business people (especially in automobile industry) who can help in applying a H1 visa for your wife as a backup and also meet local politicians, and take an infopass appointment to know what really happens to such cases like yours.
- Since you are a Indian Citizen you can go to India for a second opinion if you prefer to, there are great Doctors who studied in US and went back to start their own clinics. Canada is another country who gives free health care and have a shorter immigration process.
- Life in India will also be less expensive if you decide to live there with your savings of 8 years, you might want to look into India's policy on Fiji citizen immigration if your wife/children are Fiji citizens.
- I am sure you must have looked into cancer survivor stories, stem cell research, marrow transplant, blood transfusion and treatment options.
- Last but not least, concentrate on getting better - fight back, also look into your life insurance options, property papers and write a Will.

it's not mine case. Clockwork reported some LUD for I140 some where. May be Aug 5? Not sure. But I think LUD of I140 doesn't matter. This is my personal opinion.
Oh ok...thanks anyways...
P.S I have also read that LUD is not an indication of anything related..but at this point, its been almost 2 months since the application was sent to attorney and absolutely no updates..so I am grasping at straws...:o
